Roles and Responsibilities:
General Mills’ technology accelerates global process change and company growth. Our Global Business Solutions team employs cutting-edge technology, creative thinking, and agile methodologies.
This position requires hands-on coding, design, support, and development of cloud-native applications, websites, or console data jobs. The goal is to enable process transformation and company growth objectives by deploying via GitHub Actions and DevOps procedures.
In this capacity, the developer would collaborate with worldwide teams to develop business solutions. Individuals should be experts in numerous technology stacks, as well as have hands-on experience designing and creating scalable applications. Individuals should be able to operate independently on large-scale initiatives.
Key Accountabilities:
- Demonstrate clear and succinct communication abilities, with the ability to convey technical topics to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills by swiftly processing complex material and presenting it in a clear and simple manner.
- Possesses high analytical skills, allowing for the rapid processing of complex data in order to find root causes and potential solutions. Can quickly debug and troubleshoot difficulties.
- Actively finds possibilities to use new technologies to improve current processes or provide novel solutions.
- Actively participate in project activities such as scrum calls, coding, unit testing, support, requirement analysis, task estimation, and troubleshooting/debugging.
- Taking ownership of major production issues and ensuring that they are resolved within stipulated SLAs. This necessitates
- strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to operate under pressure.
- Championing code quality and ensuring that the team follows coding standards and best practices. This may include creating coding guidelines and doing code reviews.
- Create and execute extensive unit and integration tests. Contribute to the creation of automation solutions that will streamline daily tasks and increase efficiency.
- Time Allocation – 80 percent Translating application storyboards into functional applications, ensuring code quality and standard adherence, writing unit and integration tests, creating automation tools, ensuring application performance and responsiveness, troubleshooting and debugging applications, leveraging DevOps tools for CI/CD, developing working relationships, and mentoring less experienced team members.
- Time Allocation -20% Staying current with organizational strategy, early adoption of emerging technology, proactive communication, challenging ideas to avoid pitfalls, and leading/participating in knowledge-sharing activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education—Full-time graduation from an authorized university (Mandatory—Note: This is the minimum education requirement that cannot be changed).
- Technical expertise includes C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, RESTful APIs, JavaScript frameworks (React/Angular), DevOps methods, database systems (MSSQL or NoSQL), SSIS, and unit testing frameworks.
- Soft Skills—Excellent communication skills, with the ability to express difficult technical concepts to stakeholders and make strategic decisions.
- Agile/Digital Experience: Solid understanding of Agile processes, as well as experience in task/sprint estimation.
Mindset and Behaviors: Passion for innovative technology, eagerness to learn new ideas, and the ability to foster a good and supportive work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education—Completed a full-time computer science program at an authorized university.
- Technical Skills: This position requires a solid understanding of OOP, SOLID concepts, and C#/VB.NET, as well as expertise with .NET capabilities such as LINQ, asynchronous programming, generics, and RESTful APIs. It is necessary to be familiar with at least one major .NET UI engine (MVC/ASP.NET/Blazor), a JavaScript framework (React/Angular/Next), and a database (SQL/Oracle/Postgres). The candidate should be skilled at unit testing and understand Agile approaches.
