The Risk Division is a group of specialists in charge of managing the firm’s credit, market, liquidity, and operational risks. Whether they are evaluating the creditworthiness of the firm’s counterparties, monitoring market risks connected with trading activity, or providing analytical and regulatory compliance support, their work directly adds to the firm’s success. The division is best suited for collaborative individuals with high ethics and attention to detail.

Roles and Responsibilities:

As a member of Credit Review, you will be part of a team that performs systematic reviews of wholesale credit portfolios, analyzing counterparty credit quality to determine the accuracy of risk identification in the portfolio, as well as the adequacy of documentation, administration, policies, and procedures. You will participate in industry reviews and conduct ongoing monitoring of assigned industry sectors.

  • Industry Reviews:
    • Prepare detailed, independent analysis on individual credits in adherence with established Credit Review procedures and regulatory guidance. Document conclusions clearly and concisely.
    • Evaluate the adequacy of the analysis completed by Credit Risk, including, among other things, the accuracy of credit ratings, the timeliness of any rating changes, the identification of potential credit weaknesses, and adherence to applicable policies and procedures, laws, and regulations.
  • Continuous Monitoring:
    • Perform ongoing surveillance of assigned industry sectors, staying informed of trends/credit-related activities and identifying emerging risks.
    • Prepare quarterly reports assessing the industry portfolio’s overall risk.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Requirements: 0-3 years of expertise in credit analysis, ratings, corporate finance, and/or research. Expertise with corporates, industrials, energy, technology/media/telecom, commercial real estate, asset-secured lending, and counterparty credit risk is preferred.
  • Experience with the internal auditing or credit/loan risk review process is useful.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations linked to lending and risk management is useful.
  • Functional background or relevant experience in finance and accounting.
  • Knowledge of loan products and capital markets/traded goods.
  • Understanding of credit and loan documentation is beneficial.
  • Effective organizing skills and the capacity to manage several assignments simultaneously.
  • Motivated, versatile, and quick learner with strong analytical and communication abilities.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a collaborative environment
